our 2019 team
Meet the members of our 2019 Australia team! Read their bios and testimonies below to learn more about them and how God used the trip to impact their lives.
Nick Allen
Hi, my name is Nick Allen. I am a sophomore (Year 2) Marketing major with a minor in Graphic Design from Seattle, Washington. In my spare time, I love photography, skateboarding, exploring my city, traveling, hiking, and drawing. I’ve grown up in a large city, and being in a “concrete jungle” has always fascinated me. Even when I was little, I loved exploring and traveling to see God’s incredible creation and His creation through man. Going and seeing the world that my Lord has created has always been a passion of mine—just to enjoy the life God has given me. He gave us a life to enjoy, and what better way to enjoy life than to do it while serving Him! I’m so excited to be of service to God in Australia and to see what life-changing experiences God has waiting for me there!
Bryan Blackburn
Hey everybody! My name is Bryan Blackburn and I’m a graduating senior (Year 4) at Pensacola Christian College, majoring in Business Management and Marketing. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and attended Landmark Baptist Church. I enjoy playing the banjo, spending time with family and friends, and making people laugh. The Lord has given me a lot of great opportunities to serve Him over the past several years including: working with kids in Bible clubs, being involved with and working in camp ministry, teaching in Vacation Bible School, and helping in my youth group. I am so excited to take what God has taught me and all the experiences He has allowed me to have to Australia and allow Him to use it to further His work. I am so thankful for this great opportunity and hope that you will be praying for our team throughout this great experience that God has so graciously given us to serve Him.
Annaliese Cirone
My name is Annaliese Cirone, I am in year nine in High School attending Pensacola Christian Academy in Pensacola, Florida, and this will be my fourth time going to Australia. When I first went during the summer of 2013, our family stayed in the missionary’s home (the Maldoffs) and had the opportunity to serve their local church while the Maldoffs were back in the States on furlough. That was one of the best summers of my life. One of the many things I love about Australia are the people there. Not only do I love their accents, but they are always so kind and courteous. I am excited to go back and look forward to seeing what God has for me this year.
Madison Finch
Hi, my name is Madison Finch. I am a sophomore (Year 2) Elementary Education major at Pensacola Christian College and plan to teach in a Christian school upon graduation. I am the 5th of 7 children and was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. I graduated high school at the age of 16 and then went and graduated from Cosmetology school at age 17 and have been doing hairdressing for the last 3 years. Being from Alaska, I have had the great opportunity to see God’s magnificent creation and cannot wait to see what sights Australia has offer. Though Australia is beautiful I’m most excited to see how God will use my time and the time of my team while we minister to the Australian people. God has given me a burden of sharing His love with children. My major will give me the opportunity to share the plan of salvation so that children can understand and comprehend His message.
“A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16
Ben Jackey
My name is Ben Jackey and am a senior (Year 4) double-major in Science and Mathematics Secondary Education with a minor in Music Ministries. I grew up in an Air Force family thus moved many times throughout my life. I am a classical musician and have had years of voice and piano lessons. My favorite classical composer is Giacomo Puccini and have attended several operas he wrote as well as had the opportunity to participate in one. I also love roller coasters and escape rooms. My desire through this missions trip is to culture a heart for the needs of the Australian people before I begin teaching in Sydney at Condell Park Christian School immediately following the missions trip.
Lee Jackson
Hello! My name is Lee Jackson. I am a junior (Year 3) nursing major from Medford, Oregon. I love to do a wide variety of things such as baking, reading, and playing basketball. Missions has had a place in my heart since I was a freshman in high school. I did not have any specifics in mind until one night I decided to attend Pensacola Christian College’s weekly student meeting that highlights missions. On that evening, after the 2018 Australia missions trip gave their presentation, I sensed the Lord directing me to Australia. After much prayerful consideration, I applied! The Lord has a wonderful plan and a mysterious way of fulfilling his will. I just want to be a willing vessel for the Lord to reach others. I am VERY excited to be going on my first mission trip!
Jonathan Key
Hello everybody, my name is Jonathan Key and was born and grew up in Nassau, The Bahamas. I am 23 years old and am a senior (Year 4) Marketing and Business Management major at Pensacola Christian College. I play the saxophone and I love to have fun. After I graduate I plan to continue my studies at PCC by pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration degree. Though out my life the Lord has been able to use me in ministering to both the people in my community as well as helping at a summer camp. I am looking forward to the new opportunities that God will bring me through traveling with the YOM Team Outreach Australia and am excited to gain new experiences.
Wilchiny Pierre-Louis
My name is Wilchiny Pierre-Louis and am a senior (Year 4) nursing student from Haiti. As an only child, moving to Pensacola and attending Pensacola Christian College was and continues to be a great experience. Whether it has been in the classroom, at work, on my weekly Christian service, or randomly around campus, I have met so many wonderful people. I enjoy cooking, traveling, chatting with and helping others, and most importantly sharing the Gospel to those in need. Overall, I am thrilled to be a part of Team Australia and can’t wait to see what God does in my life and how He uses me in the lives of others for His glory.
Dehan Requintina
Hi! My name is Dehan Requintina. I am 18 years old and am a junior (Year 3) at Pensacola Christian College studying Pre-law. Originally being from Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines, I’ve lived in East Texas for most of my life and now call Texas my home. During Summer 2018, I was blessed with the incredible opportunity to join the medical YOM team to Lima, Peru. To say that the experience in Peru was life changing would be an understatement. I found so much joy in serving the Peruvian people and working alongside my loving team members! The faithful missionaries in Lima taught me so many valuable lessons and showed me what a servant’s heart truly means. So, when God opened the door for another mission trip in 2019 and allowed me to do it all again in Australia, I got and continue to be so excited! Please pray not only for the safety of our team throughout our travels, but also more importantly for the hearts of the Australian people to be receptive to the love of God and the Gospel of Christ!
