After four long years, it was so wonderful to see our friends at Condell Park Bible Church as the team had the opportunity to serve in their Holiday Kid’s Club. For four days, the Diving Dolphins (team blue), Squirting Squids (team red), and Clinging Clams (team green) competed for points by participating in crafts and games. Each team member was assigned to a team and did a wonderful job rallying their team onto victory. Of course, the most important part was the Bible lesson taught each day by Evangelist Fraser Young that also included Ben (part of the infamous Rebel Rays clan), Chris (Swish the swordfish), and Christina (Ella the Octopus) in their daily skit.
Along with participating in the daily skit, the other team members were able to make a wonderful impact on their children helping to serve as team leaders and good role models. Overall, 104 children attended over the course of four days where 10 kids responded positively to the gospel invitation with around 5-6 professing faith (the others came for assurance or just had questions about the Bible). One mum (aka mom) accepted Christ as her Saviour, and two kids from the Holiday Kid’s Club attended Condell Park Bible Church’s Sunday school this past weekend for the first time. Praise the Lord for the fruit that remained!
Near the end of the week, it was a special blessing to again see Missionary Zacharias who had arrived in Sydney for the True North Summit Conference with Jason Murphy and Kurt Skelly as the keynote speakers. On Thursday afternoon, the team was able to eat lunch and spend time fellowshipping at Ben’s home which was a surprise to the team and a blessing to Ben. On Friday evening, Josh was able to spend time with Missionary Zacharias by attending the Friday evening conference.
Although the team was assigned to various roles in Condell Park Bible Church’s Holiday Kid’s Club and did not have to prepare anything, they gave their all and were a blessing to both the children and the church. Thank you to Condell Park Bible Church and Pastor and Mrs. Matthews for allowing our team the opportunity to serve and help make an eternal impact in the lives of these dear children!
