One of the life-changing blessings of a missions trip are all the fellowship opportunities that one experiences. Each morning, our guy Day Leader (Trevor in the picture below) takes the time to share something from God’s Word to encourage us onward as we go throughout our day.

On Monday evening, we were able to spend some quality time with the Sutton family. Kyle, Jamie, Jonathan, David, and Bec (who is now in the States) are a faithful missionary family ministering almost 25 years to Australia’s Jewish community in Melbourne (see https://ibjm.denarionline.com/Missionaries/Detail/?missionary=SU3401).

Even though we were unable to minister at their local church this past Sunday, we so much enjoyed a Monday night of Sweet Fellowship over at their home partaking of some of Jonathan’s famous tortilla soup as well as singing hymns, playing games, fellowshipping, receiving a challenge from God’s Word, and ministering to the Suttons in song. The group really enjoyed playing “Name That Tune” using hymns–a lot more difficult than it seems. The Suttons have been a blessing to our teams for several years, and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to pursue Sweet Fellowship with them–please PRAY for the Suttons and their work in Australia!

On Tuesday evening, the team spent some quality time in Sweet Fellowship with Missionary Zacharias and Nathan Zooeff, son of Pastor David Zooeff, of Ferntree Gully Independent Baptist Church. Even though it was a little rainy outside, the team made their way down town, across the Yarra River, and went up 89 floors to Melbourne’s Eureka Skydeck. As they spent time fellowshipping, they were able to see the Parliament Building as well as ride the free tram through Melbourne’s Central Business District. Overall, a good time was had by all as Nathan was really appreciative of hanging out with our team.

One thing that the team has learned thus far is how much of a blessing they can be to other young adults their age as they take the time to sharpen each other to carry out the Great Commission and in their walk with Christ. We thank God that we truly have had several opportunities to have Sweet Fellowship–even if we have to do it at our local McDonalds or Maccas (as the Aussies would call it)!

Love,

Team Australia
